We in Games Finland ry is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting equality and diversity in the Finnish game industry.

A More Equal Game Industry for Everyone

Although the game industry has grown into a significant part of Finland's creative economy, its diversity does not yet reflect the full potential of society. We in Games Finland ry was founded in 2019 to support underrepresented groups such as women and other minorities in the game industry, and to build and support a community where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed.

Mentorship Program

One of the association's key projects is an annual mentorship program that connects members interested in starting or pivoting in the game industry with experienced professionals. The program runs primarily online to make participation accessible to as many people as possible.
Mentorships are built around individual goals, and participants are provided with supporting materials and shared online workshops along the way.

Anyone who works or has worked in the game industry is welcome to volunteer as a mentor and membership is not required. Mentors commit to a minimum of four sessions of 45 to 60 minutes each with their mentee.

The program is free for members, and the annual membership fee is just €10. A fee waiver can also be requested each year.

In 2025, the association held its seventh mentorship program, with 114 participants: 55 mentors and 59 mentees.

Events and Networking

WiGFi also regularly organises events where industry professionals, students and anyone interested in the field can network, share experiences and find inspiration. Events are open to everyone interested in advancing diversity, regardless of background.
The most regular event is the "We in Games Pre-IGDA", held ahead of the IGDA Helsinki Hub meetup.
